DAY TRIP REPORT: Gettysburg, PA
It's been a few years since we've really explored Gettysburg. All too often we drive past it, through it, or to one of its many great restaurants and forget that it is the site of the bloodiest battle of the Civil War.

In just three days thousands of soldiers died on these fields.
Memorials, statues, and cannons dot the battlefield these days. They serve as a way to honor and remember those lost in the battle.

The monument to honor Pennsylvanians who died at Gettysburg. The names of the soldiers span all four sides of the structure.

The Soldiers National Cemetary at Gettysburg was originally built for Union soldiers who died in battle at Gettysburg but now is the final resting place of soldiers from all wars and conflicts.
