Brews, Brats, and Bands
Last weekend the York Jaycees hosted Brews, Brats, and Bands - a first of what we hope becomes an annual beer festival at the Sovereign Bank Stadium.
This is what we saw.
A representative of Troeg's Brewery hands over a HopBack amber ale.

The crowd came in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Even some tweeple showed up! Can you spot them?

Mmmm....cider. Woodchuck's Granny Smith on the left, and Classic Amber on the right.

Each festival-goer received a ticket for one free brat with kraut. They were grilled and tasty.

Music was provided by Random Allies and Double Tap. I'm not sure how well they fit the crowd in attendance, but both bands were entertaining and seemed to enjoy themselves.

A number of Pennsylvania breweries came out for the event. Pictured clockwise: Straub, Yuengling, Legacy, Stoudt's.
Overall, the event was enjoyable. We (and a number of other folks we talked to) were a bit disappointed that many of the beers were presented by distributor representatives- not someone from the brewery itself. Seeing someone in a Sam Adams hat, Coors Light jacket, and Budweiser t-shirt pour a Long Trail craft beer is kind of disheartening. The Pennsylvania breweries were well represented, and hopefully the success of this year's event can bring brewers from other states in for the show.
